193 Nations, One Platform- To settle disputes by Peaceful means
Christ Nagar International School, Kaudiar, gave a platform to the student community in Thiruvananthapuram to gain a feel and knowledge of one of the august organisations in the world, by organising a Model UN General Assembly. The UN general Assembly is a platform where the nations of the world can express their concerns and voice their opinions and negotiate differences through peaceful discussions and mediations.

Dr. Shashi Tharoor, MP, former Minister of External Affairs and former Under Secretary-General for Communication and Public Information to the UN, the chief guest at the function, exhorted the student community to dream of reaching such high platforms that gives hope to the voiceless millions of the world. He stressed on the need for thinking from the other person’s perspective and the role of mediation in settling disputes and the relevance of the UN and the General Assembly in particular, with all its limitations and faults in giving hope to the distressed of the world.
After month long preparations of selection procedures and gruelling practice sessions, the students from various schools in the city put up a sterling performance at the Model Assembly.
